Tributes paid to Kildare 'gentleman' who passed this week

Tributes have poured in following the passing of Mattie Considine, Ballyhagan, Carbury, Kildare.

Formerly Coill Dubh, Co Kildare and Cree, Co Clare.

Mattie passed peacefully at home on July 30 last, surrounded by his loving family.

Mattie is father of the late Justin, and is sadly missed by his loving wife Moira, children Margaret, Brendan and Elaine, grandchildren, great grandchildren, daughter in law, sons in law, brother Patrick, sister Nancy, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Glennon's Funeral Home, Allenwood on Friday (August 1) from 4pm - 7pm with rosary at 6.30pm.

Removal from his family home on Saturday morning (August 2) to arrive at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Derrinturn for requiem Mass at 11am, followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.

Mattie's funeral Mass will be live-streamed and can be viewed through the webstream link below.

Tributes paid to Mattie on RIP.ie this week include: “My Deepest Sympathy to the Considine family on the sad passing of Mattie. May he rest in peace.”

While another wrote: “Sincere condolences to Mattie's family on his sad passing. A gentleman, and a pleasure to work with. May he rest in peace, RIP.”

And another mourner wrote: “Sarah and family, I'm so sorry to hear that your dear grandfather has passed away. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. May Mattie Rest in Peace.”

And another added: “Deepest sympathy to Mattie's family, especially his brother Patrick, my good friend and neighbour. Rest in peace.”
