The late Joseph Scally
A Kildare man who passed this week has been fondly remembered for being a “lovely dad and grandad.”
Joseph Scally, Prosperous, Kildare and late of St. Peter's Road, Walkinstown, Dublin 12, passed peacefully at home on August 14 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved husband of the late Teresa, Joseph is deeply regretted by his loving children Helen, John, Deborah and Frank, sons-in-law Tony and Padraig, daughter-in-law Aisling, 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, sisters (Rose & Noreen), sisters-in-law (Maura & Betty), nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Tributes paid to Joseph this week on RIP.ie include: “Sincerest condolences to Helen, Deborah, John, Frank and extended family at this sad time. Your Dad was a true, kind gentlemen. I have many fond memories of him that i will cherish forever. May you rest in eternal peace Joe. X”
And: “Condolences Debbie, Padraig, Sean, Alan, Orla and all the Scally family on the passing of Joe. A lovely man. May he rest in peace.”
While another mourner wrote: “Debbie, Padraig & Family, we are so sorry to hear that your lovely Dad and Grandad has passed away. May he rest in peace.”
And another added: “My sincere condolences Frank & family on the loss of your beloved Dad, may he Rest in Peace.”
Reposing at his residence on Sunday from 4pm - 8pm with evening prayers at 7pm. Removal on Monday from his residence at approx. 10:30am to arrive at the Church of Our Lady and St. Joseph, Prosperous for 11am funeral mass, followed by committal service in the Garden Chapel, Mt. Jerome Crematorium, Harolds Cross at approx 1:30pm.
