Tributes pour in for Kildare Garda who passed this week

The late John Cullinane

Heartfelt tributes have poured in following the passing this week of Kildare Garda, John Cullinane.

John (Sallins, Co. Kildare and late of Rathcoole, Co. Dublin and Serving Member of An Garda Síochána) passed peacefully on September 29 last, surrounded by his family and in the loving care of staff at St. Brigid’s Hospice, The Curragh.

Predeceased by his parents Joe and Breda. Beloved husband of Michelle and devoted dad of Sean, Cormac and Ailbhe.

Sadly missed by his wife, children, sisters Suzanne and Mary, brother Brian, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, father-in-law Paddy, mother-in-law Bridget, nieces, nephews, his extended relatives and wide circle of friends and colleagues.

May John Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Oliver Reilly’s Funeral Home, The Waterways, Sallins, Co. Kildare, (W91 K6PN) on Thursday evening (October 2) from 4pm to 8pm, with prayers at 7pm.

Removal by Oliver Reilly Funeral Directors from his residence on Friday (October 3) at 10.30am to arrive at the Church of Our Lady and the Guardian Angels, Sallins for 11am funeral mass, followed by Funeral to Bodenstown Cemetery.

Tributes paid to John on RIP.ie this week include: “Sincerest condolences to the Cullinane family on the untimely loss of John. I remember he talked so fondly of his children, he was the ultimate ‘proud dad’. My thoughts and prayer are with you all, rest in peace John.”

And: “Absolutely shocked to learn of John’s passing I meet him in Naas about a year ago and he was in great form sincere condolences to his wife and family RIP John.”

While another mourner wrote: “Deepest condolences to you Mary and to all your family on the untimely passing of your brother John. May he rest in peace.”

And another added: “It was with great sadness to hear of John's passing, who we knew growing up in Rathcoole and playing hurling in Commercials. My deepest to all his family, sisters and brother RIP John.”
