Kildare community mourns passing of 'absolute gentleman'

The community of Levitstown, Athy, Co Kildare is mourning the recent passing of “absolute gentleman”, Billy Carroll.

Billy passed peacefully, in the loving care of the staff of Cloverlodge Nursing Home, Athy, on Sunday, October 5 last.

He is deeply regretted by his loving wife Dell, sister Mary, brother-in-law Seán, nephews Colm, George, Aidan, Des, Andy, Mark, Jes, Neil and Damien, nieces Florence, Vivienne, Ann, Rhona, Terrie and Georgina, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Billy is reposing at Rigney's Funeral Home, Athy (R14 TX26) on Monday evening (October 6) from 6pm until the conclusion of the Rosary at 8pm.

The removal takes place on Tuesday morning (October 7) to arrive at St. Michael's Parish Church, Athy for Requiem Mass at 11am, see livestream link http://www.parishofathy.ie

The burial will take place afterwards in St. Michael's New Cemetery, Athy.

Tributes paid to Billy this week on RIP.ie include: “So sorry to hear of the sad passing of Billy. An absolute gentleman and a great work colleague. Our sincere condolences to Dell and Billy's family. May he rest in peace.”

And: “Sincere condolences to Dell and the Carroll family on the loss of Billy. He was an absolute gentleman with a heart of gold. May he rest in peace.”

While another mourner wrote: “My sincere sympathy to you Dell and your extended family on the sad passing of Billy... A gentleman! May he now rest in peace.”

And another added: “Our deepest sympathy to Dell & Mary Sean & Carroll family on the sad passing of Billy may his gentle soul RIP AMEN.”
