Tributes paid to Kildare 'gentleman' and 'great colleague'

Tributes have been paid to a Kildare man fondly remembered as a 'gentleman' and 'great colleague.'

Noel Archbold, Ryevale Lawns, Leixlip, and late of Portlaoise, Co Laois passed peacefully on November 15, surrounded by his loving family in the excellent care of the staff of the Mater Hospital.

Noel is the beloved father of the late Stephen and pre-deceased by his loving parents Annie and Richard and brothers Tom, Frank and Sean.

He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Irene, adored children Jennifer and Brian, son-in-law Patrick, daughter-in-law Katie, cherished grandchildren Alicia, Charlotte, Ellie and Noah, sister Ann, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and many good friends.

Noel is reposing at Oliver Reilly's Funeral Home, Leinster St., Maynooth, (W23V99E) on Tuesday (November 18) from 5pm - 8pm, with evening prayers at 7pm.

The removal will take place from the funeral home on Wednesday (November 19) at approximately 10:30am to arrive at The Church of Our Lady's Nativity, Leixlip for 11am Funeral Mass, followed by burial in Confey Cemetery.

Noel's family would like to sincerely thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Mater Hospital for their compassion and care shown to Noel and family during his illness.

Tributes paid to Noel on RIP.ie include: “Heartfelt condolences to Irene, Jennifer, Brian and the extended Archbold family. Noel was a gentleman and a great man for the stories. Thinking of you all at this difficult time x.”

And: “Sincere sympathy to Noel's family and friends on his passing. He was a great colleague in Irish Industrial Gases.”

While another mourner wrote: “Dear Jenny, Patrick, Alicia, Charlotte and Ellie we would like to offer you and your whole family our deepest condolences on the passing of your Dad Noel. You are in our thoughts and prayers. From Cora, Sean, Ciara, Danny and Aidan.”

And another added: “Sincere condolences to the Archibold family on Noel's passing, we went to school together in the 60s may he rest in peace.”
