Kildare man remembered as 'a great friend' and 'an exceptional teacher'

A Kildare man who passed this week has been fondly remembered as 'a great friend' and 'an exceptional teacher.'

David William John Clarke, Ballyshannon House, Carbury, Kildare, passed peacefully on November 18 last, surrounded by his loving family in the wonderful care of St. Brigid's Hospice, The Curragh, Co. Kildare.

David is predeceased by his parents Haig and Maud.

He is very sadly missed by his beloved wife Susan, his loving daughters Rachel and Sarah, son-in-law Tony, grandchildren Charlie and Amelia, sister Valerie, and by his extended family, neighbours and friends.

Tributes paid to David this week on RIP.ie include: “A great friend down through the years and also an exceptional teacher in Kings Hospital School. Deepest sympathies to Susan. Rachel. Sarah and all the Family.”

And: “It is with great sadness that we heard of David’s passing, he was a true gentleman. Sincere condolences to you all at this sad time.”

While another mourner wrote: “Sincere sympathy to all Dave's family and friends. A wonderful teacher and always there to help solve problems in the photographic society.”

And another added: “Sincere condolences to Susan, Rachel, Sarah, Charlie, Amelia, Tony and Valerie. I am sorry and saddened to hear of David’s passing, he was a very welcoming and kind man, he will be greatly missed by you all. Rest in peace David.”

The funeral service will take place this Friday (November 21) at 1pm in Carbury Parish Church, Carbury Village, followed by interment in the adjoining graveyard.
