Heartfelt tributes have poured in following the passing of “true gentleman”, Joe Dunne, from Prosperous, Kildare.
Joe passed on March 6 2026 peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Joe is the beloved father of the late Baby Bridget and Baby Maria. He is deeply regretted by his loving wife Nan, sons Joe, Mick, Pat, Andrew and John, daughters-in-law, 11 adored grandchildren, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
May Joe Rest In Peace.
Joe will be reposing at Oliver Reilly's Funeral Home, Prosperous (W91T62P) on Monday (March 9) from 4pm to 8pm, with prayers at 7pm.
The removal will take place on March 10 from his residence at 10.30am to arrive at The Church of Our Lady and St. Joseph, Prosperous for 11am funeral mass, followed by burial in Killybegs Cemetery, Prosperous.

Tributes paid to Joe on RIP.ie include the following: “Sincere condolences to the Dunne family on your loss. Joe was one of the first people we met on moving to Prosperous, a true Gentleman always generous with his time and knowledge, Heaven's gardens will be well tended.”
And: “To Nan, our dear friend Patrick and all the Dunne family. We wish to express our deepest sympathies on the passing of Joe. A true gentleman who will be sadly missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.”
While another mourner wrote: “Nan & all the Dunne family we extend our sincere sympathy to you all on the passing of Joe. A great Caragh GAA stalwart who did a lot of work for Kare too. May his gentle soul rest in heavenly peace.”
And another added: “We are sincerely sorry for your sad loss, we offer our heartfelt condolences to Nan and all the Dunne family. A great neighbour. May Joe Rest In Peace.”
