The late Patrick (Paddy) Fitzgerald
Tributes have been paid to a Kildare man fondly remembered as a “true gentleman.”
Patrick (Paddy) Fitzgerald – Newtown, Suncroft, Kildare / The Curragh, Kildare – passed peacefully on March 17 last in the wonderful care of the staff of Suncroft Lodge Nursing Home at the age of 89.
Paddy is predeceased by his loving wife Patricia (Pat). He is sadly missed by his loving daughters Colette and Sinead, sons Jerome and Patrick, son in law John, daughter in law Jenny, grandchildren Eoin, Megan, Emer, Iain, Rachel, Karl, Clare and Grace, great grandchildren Kyle, Ryan, Fionn, Sadhbh, Molly and Aoife, extended family, neighbours and friends.
May Paddy Rest In Peace.
Paddy will be reposing at McWey's Funeral Home, Abbeyview, Kildare Town, on Wednesday (18th March) from 5pm concluding with Rosary at 7pm.

The removal will take place by Glennons Funeral Directors on Thursday morning to arrive St. Brigid’s Church, Suncroft for Requiem Mass at 11am.
Burial afterwards in Holy Cross Cemetery, Suncroft.
Paddy's Funeral Mass will be broadcast on 108FM and also live-streamed on the webstream link below.

Tributes paid to Paddy on RIP.ie this week include: “So sorry to hear the sad news of Paddy's passing but he is now reunited with his beloved Pat. Deepest condolences to Sinead, Colette, Patrick and Jerome and all the family. Paddy was a true gentleman. May he rest in peace.”
And: “Deepest sympathy to all Paddy's family,condolences to you all, fond memories of him and you dear mother calling down to visit our parents when they were alive, he was a lovely man, thinking of you all at this time.”
While another mourner wrote: “Sincere condolences to the Fitzgerald family on the passing of their Dad, Grandfather and father in law. Thinking of you all at this very sad time. May he rest now in the arms of his beloved Pat (Mrs Fitzgerald). We both enjoyed several chats with Mr. Fitzgerald ( Paddy) in the village and Post Office. Those chats were always informative and friendly.”
And another added: “My sincere condolences to all the family on the passing of Paddy. I got to know him and Pat through my work in B/I Kildare and they were such a special couple who I always loved to meet and have a chat with. May Paddy now rest in peace.”
