The following recent deaths have occurred:

Celia Colgan (née Young)

The death has occurred of Celia Colgan (née Young), Leixlip, Kildare / Glasnevin, Dublin.

COLGAN, Née Young, Celia (Leixlip, Co. Kildare and formerly of Pinewood, Glasnevin) March 30 2026.

Beloved wife of the late Christopher (Chris) and much-loved mother of Susan, Joanne, Maria and John; Celia will be sadly missed by her loving daughters, son, grandchildren Sophie, Seán, Stephanie, Harry and Sarah, sons-in-law Ciarán, Mark and Henry, brothers-in-law,, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Celbridge on Monday evening (April 6) between 5pm and 7pm.

Removal on Tuesday morning (April 7) to The Church of Our Lady’s Nativity, Leixlip arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am followed by cremation in Newlands Cross Crematorium.

Helen Fenlon (née Walsh)

The death has occurred of Helen Fenlon (née Walsh), Kingsgrove, Athy, Kildare / Stradbally, Laois.

Helen Fenlon (nee Walsh), Kingsgrove, Athy, Co. Kildare, and formerly of Crannagh, Stradbally, Co Laois passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in the wonderful care of the staff of St. Vincents Hospital, Athy on March 31 2026.

Predeceased by her husband Tosh, her parents Edward and Molly, sister Moria and her brothers John and Eamon.

Helen will be sadly missed by her son Paul and his partner Derek, sisters-in-law Joan and Rita, nephews and nieces, extended family and friends.

Helen will repose in Thompson’s Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, Mount Hawkins, Athy, (R14 NX80) on Wednesday, April 1 2026 from 5.30pm until conclusion of the Rosary at 7pm.

Removal at 10.45am on Thursday morning April 2 2026 to arrive at St. Michael’s Parish Church, Athy for Christian Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Michael’s (New) Cemetery, Athy.

Emily Jones (née Taylor)

The death has occurred of Emily Jones (née Taylor), Cleamore Terrace, Kildare Town, Kildare.

Formerly of Magee Terrace, Kildare Town.
Peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Ashley Lodge Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband Larry and recently deceased daughter-in-law Vicki Weller Jones.

Sadly missed by her loving son Eltin, granddaughter Rebecca, grandson Laurence, great grandson Evan, sisters Teresa, Carmel and Joan, nieces and nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at McWeys Funeral Home, Abbeyview, Kildare Town from 5pm on Wednesday (April 1) concluding with Prayers at 7pm.

Removal by Glennons Funeral Directors on Thursday morning to arrive at The Carmelites Church, Kildare Town for Funeral Liturgy at 11am.

Alex Lawes

The death has occurred of Alex Lawes, Stoneybatter, Dublin / Inchicore, Dublin / Celbridge, Kildare.

Alex Lawes (Stoneybatter, Dublin 7 and formerly of Inchicore and Celbridge) passed away March 22 2026. Brewer, Publican, Musician and Captain. Co-founder of both Whiplash and Fidelity.

Beloved brother to Eva and dear son of the late Dympna and Gerry.

Our lives will never be the same at the sudden loss of this wonderfully kind, talented and charming man. Generous in every sense of the word, brilliantly funny and a creative genius.

Deeply missed by his loving sister Eva, brother-in-law Colin, his niece Dolly whom he adored and his dog Brettsie who was a joy in his life. Also sadly missed by aunts and uncles, cousins and extended family, work family in Whiplash and Fidelity Bar and his vast circle of friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Bourke’s Funeral Home, 71 Queen Street, Dublin 7 (D07CF68) from 4pm to 6pm Monday afternoon (April 6).

Alex’s Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday afternoon (April 7) at 2.30pm at Dardistown Crematorium Chapel which will also be streamed live via the link below.

John Price

The death has occurred of John PRICE, Waterford / Athy, Kildare / Drimnagh, Dublin.

Price (Waterford, formerly of Athy, Co. Kildare and Drimnagh Road, Dublin 12) – March 31, 2026, (peacefully), surrounded by his loving family, at Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross.

John, beloved husband of Joan and dear stepfather of Sarah, Liam and the late Darragh.

Predeceased by his brother Michael; Sadly missed by his loving wife, stepdaughter, stepson, sisters Ann, Laura, Helen, Fiona and Deirdre, stepson-in-law Colm, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing on Thursday from 4pm to 7pm at the Ramon Massey & Son Funeral Home, 78 Walkinstown Road, D12 PWK0, (opposite Supervalu).

The death has occurred of Kathleen Rowley (née Carton), Cadamstown, Broadford, Kildare.

Kathleen passed away (peacefully) in her 88th year at Connolly Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her brothers Pat and John and her sister Olive. She will be deeply regretted and sadly missed by her family: husband Edward, sons Pat, John, Oliver, Martin and Paul, sisters Dina and Frances, daughters-in-law Gina and Heather, grandchildren, sisters-in-law Stella and Chrissie, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The death has occurred of Jack Whiteley, St Patricks Tce, Portarlington, Offaly / Rathangan, Kildare.

Formerly of Ellistown, Rathangan County Kildare and Piercetown, Newbridge, County Kildare. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Regional Hospital Tullamore.

Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Ann and his brother Teddy.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Attracta, children Niall, Niamh, Ciaran and Sarah, brother Tommy, sister Nancy son-in-law Kristof, daughters-in-law Trisha , Helen and Danielle, adoring grandchildren Caoimhe, Fiadh, Caelàn, Hayley, Holly, Louise and Jack, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.
