RIP: Tributes paid to Kildare 'gentleman' who passed recently

The late John Sharpe

Tributes have been paid to a Monasterevin, Kildare “gentleman” who passed recently.

John Sharpe, Quinsboro, Monasterevin, Kildare passed peacefully on March 31 2026, surrounded by his loving family at St James' Hospital Dublin.

John is the loving son of the late Joe and Kathleen. He is deeply regretted by his loving brothers Robert and Keith, sisters Irene and Joanne, stepmother May, nieces Jennifer and Maria, aunts, uncles, extended family, neighbours and friends.

May John Rest In Peace.

John will be reposing at Our Lady's Chapel Monasterevin on Good Friday evening from 5pm with Rosary at 8pm.

The removal will take place on Saturday morning at 11:45am arriving at St Peter and Paul's Church Monasterevin for Funeral Liturgy at 12 noon.

Interment afterwards in St Evin's Cemetery Monasterevin.

John's Funeral Liturgy will be streamed live on http://www.monasterevinparish.ie/

The family would like to thank you for your support and understanding at this sad and difficult time.

Tributes paid to John on RIP.ie include: “Deepest sympathy to all the Sharpe family on the passing of John.
May he rest in peace.”

And: “Deepest sympathy to all the family may John rest in peace.”
