Developers get green light for former pub site in Castledermot
13:24 Monday 18th of June 2018

Planning permission has been granted to develop the site of the former Shamrock Bar in Castledermot.

Developers, APD Partnership, which is based in Castledermot, submitted plans late last year.

A fire in the sprawling premises on the Main Street of the village had previously substantially damaged the property.

The former pub enjoys a wide frontage in the centre of the village and also has an extensive area at its rear.

Planning permission had been sought for several changes to the site including the demolition of existing buildings and the construction of new facilities.

Included in the designs was a two-storey building with administration offices with a gated enclosed courtyard.

Also planned was a kitchen, conservatory and staff accommodation.
