Developers are planning to construct more than 200 new homes in Kildare Town on the Nurney Road in a project that will cost almost €20 million.
Greyabbey Investments Limited have submitted plans to Kildare County Council to construct a total of 207 new residential units on an area of land that is bound by the Nurney Road and a residential to its east.
The planners submitted the application last week and have valued the project at €19,458,000.
The proposed development will consist of the provision of six semi-detached five-bed two-storey houses (including balcony at first floor level), 81 four-bed two-storey houses and 120 three-bed two-storey house and a two-storey childcare facility.
Plans for pedestrian and vehicular access to the site via the Nurney Road have also been lodged, while infrastructural and above ground level works will also have to be carried out.
The planners also stated in their application that the development also consists of an increase of ground levels at the site by up to c.1.9m. The increase in ground levels will be facilitated through the importation of approximately 100,000m3 of infill material. For the avoidance of doubt, the imported infill material required to alter the ground levels will not be a waste as defined by the Waste Management Act 1996.
