Kildare County Council said that it would ‘arrange for remarking as required in Quarter 2 of 2026’

Kildare County Council (KCC) has given assurances that it will repaint any disabled parking bays "in poor repair" throughout the Clane-Maynooth Municipal District (MD).

The comments were made by KCC in response to a motion calling for the repainting of the spaces from Fine Gael councillor Tim Durkan, which was heard on Friday, November 7 last.

His motion was seconded by Independent Cllr Pádraig McEvoy.

In response, KCC told Cllr Durkan via the report it presented at the meeting: "The MD office will inspect the condition of the road markings of the mobility impaired spaces in the district and arrange for remarking as required in Quarter 2 of 2026."

Cllr Durkan replied by telling KCC that he welcomed its report, and noted that he had "received complaints from both residents and local access groups" in relation to the issue.placeholder image
