Dog warden is needed for north Kildare
Kildare County Council should appoint a dog warden to serve the Celbridge/Leixlip area.
Cllr David Trost said Kildare County Council should consider a dog warden service following on from the recent announcement by the government that up to 40 dog wardens are to be hired by local authorities nationwide in 2025.
According to KCC, the ISPCA provides a dog warden service on its behalf and its inspectors work closely with other agencies including the gardaí.
Currently there are two dog wardens serving the entire county “which is on a par with other counties.” KCC also said the service will be reviewed when further details of plans for expansion and ongoing funding are made available from the government.
