A man who Naas District Court heard avoided a checkpoint appeared before the District Court today.
The 23-year-old appeared before the court facing charges of not having insurance and driving without a licence, on November 9, 2016, at Carbury, Co Kildare.
Inspector Oliver Henry outlined how the accused tried to avoid a checkpoint and had been disqualified from driving at the time.
Defence Solicitor, Thomasina Connell, said that the accused was 'on the way to work.'
Judge Desmond Zaidan ordered that the accused was convicted and fined six months for no insurance and banned from driving for three years. Not having a driving licence was taken into consideration.
In the event of appeal Judge Zaidan ordered that the accused pay €400 cash.
