Two athletes from each region were selected as torch and flag bearers, leading a procession into the stadium to open the Games, including Special Olympics Leinster athletes from Carlow and Timahoe, Co. Laois:

  • Flag Bearer: Emma Scully, 22, from Carlow (Tenpin Bowling)
  • Torch Bearer: Steven Hayes, 20, from Timahoe, Co. Laois (Equestrian)
