€220,000 worth of drugs is seized in Carlow

€220,000 worth of drugs has been seized in Carlow.

Gardaí have arrested two men after a  quantity of drugs was seized  in Carlow yesterday.

Gardaí on routine patrol at Rochfort Manor, Old Leighlin Road, Carlow at 5.40pm observed two men acting suspiciously beside two cars, a black Audi and a silver Renault.

On searching the cars Gardaí discovered three large packages; two packages are believed to contain cocaine and the other Ketamine, with a total estimated street value of €220,000 (subject to analysis).
Two men, in their 30s and 20s, were arrested at the scene and taken to Carlow Garda Station. Both are detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
