To celebrate the Taste of Kildare food festival, organisers County Kildare Tourism are giving one lucky winner the chance to dine out for a year in 12 of Kildare’s best restaurants.
The winner can eat out once a month and experience some of the county’s best food and hospitality.
Participating restaurants in dine out free for a year are:
- Baileys Bistro at the Clanard Court, Athy;
- The Ballymore Inn, Ballymore Eustace;
- The Brown Bear, Two Mile House;
- Burtown House, Athy;
- Canteen Celbridge,
- The Dew Drop Inn, Kill;
- Fallons of Kilcullen,
- Harte’s of Kildare Town;
- Las Radas Tapas, Naas;
- Lemongrass Fusion, Naas;
- Chapter 16 at Silken Thomas, Kildare Town;
- Two Cooks, Sallins.
Tickets for Taste of Kildare and a chance to win are now available at www.tasteofkildare.ie priced at €11 each.
Under-14s with an adult go free.
Taste of Kildare 2018 will be held in the surroundings of the Walled Garden at the K Club, Straffan between 12.30pm and 5.30pm on Sunday August 19.
TV chef Martin Shanahan will be one of the star hosts.
Shanahan will be joined by other leading Irish chefs, including Thomas Haughton and Ross Lewis, in a series of cookery demonstrations celebrating the best the county’s great restaurants and food producers and suppliers have to offer.
The one-day event will promote the county’s fresh farm to fork food offering.
It will feature a vast array of food stands from Kildare’s leading restaurants, producers and suppliers.
Local restaurants and suppliers will also come together to host a gala lunch in the K Club’s Legacy Suite for 300 pre-sold guests, with tickets at €86 each.
The K Club event will also feature craft beer, wine tasting, children’s activities and music from renowned singer-songwriter Paddy Casey, a jazz band and DJ.
Taste of Kildare will be the highlight of Taste of Kildare Week – when the county’s restaurants will host a celebration of local flavours, countywide tastings and free demonstrations.
Taste of Kildare Week starts on Monday August 12 and coincides with the visit of the 65 Rose of Tralee finalists to the county.
Kildare Restaurant Week participating restaurants will include eateries to suit all tastes and budgets.
“Food is at the heart of Kildare’s tourist offering, accounting for €2 out of every €5 spent by visitors,” said County Kildare Tourism Development Manager Aine Mangan.
The festival takes place in partnership with Ardstone Homes and Kildare Village with the support of Kildare County Council.
