Final opinion polls ahead of the General Election will please Fine Gael
The final Sunday polls have been published ahead of the upcoming General Election, and Fine Gael seem to be the real winners in the latest tallies.
A Millward Brown poll in today's Sunday Independent suggest that support for the government remains unchanged since the last poll was taken, while polls in the Sunday Times and the Sunday Business Post claim that support for Labour has dropped even further.
The Millward Brown poll says that 27% of voters will back Fine Gael when they go to the polls on Friday, but 30% of people claim they will back Independents and smaller parties in the election.
The Sunday Times poll shows a massive decrease in the backing of Labour, with just 4% of people claiming they want to see the smaller governement party back in power this time around. Sinn Féin support ranges between 15-19% in the three polls, while Fianna Fáil's support ranges from 18-23%.
According to the polls, somewhere from 9% to 17% of voters have yet to decide who they will give their preference to on Friday.
