As many householders know, sometimes it can prove a little difficult to find a waste disposal that will take some of the more hazardous household items such as medicinal waste and batteries, but next month people in Co. Kildare are being invited to dispose of their waste for free at a disposal centre in Kilcullen.
Silliot Hill Civic Amenity Centre is hosting a free household hazardous waste day on Wednesday 13th of June.
Items that can be disposed of on the waste day include; adhesives, aerosals, antifreeze, batteries (household, car, fence etc.), herbicides, household detergents, medicinal waste (human and animal), mixed fuels, oil (cooking and engine), oil filters, paints and varnishes, and pesticides.
Please note that normally there is a charge for these items so only household hazardous waste (and waste electrical items- these are always free to recycle) will be free on the day- all other waste will incur a charge. No items other than household hazardous waste items listed above will be accepted at this collection.
Silliot Hill is open 8am to 3.45pm on Wednesday 13 June with last vehicles in by 3.30pm.
