You know Euro fever has captured the country when Shane McGowan released yet another song in support of Ireland's Euro soccer campaign.

The Pogue's lead singer has collaborated again with the Cronin brothers Johnny and Michael, along with comedian Joe Rooney of Father Ted fame. And just to balance that, McGowan has recorded the 'inspirational' track with a 50-piece choir.

A play on the 1970's disco track by Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin, 'Je t'aime',  McGowan's 'take' on the French classic entails a reference to everyone from Terry Wogan, to Irish literary genius James Joyce, Twink - and Bosco?

Who'd ever have thought of putting that combination in the same verse!

Throw in rugby ace, Shane Long, singer come preacher, Sinéad O'Connor, wild man actor Richard Harris and country and western singer, Declan Nerney.

Basically if you're not mentioned, you're not an Irish celebrity!

McGowan, of course along with the Cronin brothers produced the song 'The Rocky Road to Poland' in 2012.

Forget "Ole, ole, ole' and 'You'll never beat the Irish'.  Je t'aime McGowan.
