Temperatures are set to drop to zero degrees tonight ahead of what will be a bitterly cold weekend around the county.
Outbreaks of rain with drizzle will affect Munster, Connacht and parts of south Leinster tonight, but amounts will be small. Ulster and north Leinster will be mainly dry other than isolated showers in the north. Slight frost will form where skies clear. Minimum temperatures of zero to 5 degrees - lowest in the east.
Tomorrow, Saturday, will be mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, mainly over Connacht and Munster. Staying mostly cloudy, but a few sunny spells will develop over Ulster and north Leinster. Highest temperatures of 7-12 degrees - mildest in the southwest.
Saturday night will be mostly cloudy. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle will continue to affect Connacht, Munster and Leinster. Lowest temperatures of 1-6 degrees with perhaps a touch of frost in any clear intervals in parts of Ulster and north Leinster early in the night.
Sunday will be a rather cloudy day with patchy outbreaks of rain and drizzle, with the best of the dry weather in east of the country. Highest temperatures of 7-12 degrees with freshening southerly winds.
