The funeral of well-known Kildare writer Aisling McDermott will take place on Monday morning in Celbridge.
There was an outpouring of grief on Thursday when news of her death emerged, and the Celbridge local has been given glowing praise for her contribution to Irish writing in recent years. McDermott co-founded popular fashion blog Beaut.ie and was also a columnist for the Irish Times. Aisling also wrote three books; The Beaut.ie Guide to Gorgeous, Gorgeous to Go and About Face: The Smart Woman's Guide to Beauty.
She passed away earlier this week at the age of 46 following a battle with Multiple Sclerosis which she fought for more than 20 years.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Derrick, parents Brian and Róisín and sisters Kirstie and Shauna.
Her remains will be reposing at her parents’ home on Sunday from 4pm to 8pm. Removal to St. Patrick’s Church, Celbridge, on Monday morning arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial in Donacomper Cemetery.
