Kildare GAA: Goals see Castledermot take U16 Division 1 title

The old tale of goals win games proved ever so true as Castledermot put four past Raheens to claim the Life Credit Union U16 Football League Division 1 title at rain-swept Sarsfields on Tuesday evening.
An early goal and point from Tadgh O’Gorman sandwiching a Aodhan Bergin point left Castledermot five points clear inside the opening two minutes of action, however Raheens hit back before the break to trail by just a single point.

The Caragh boys leveled up on the resumption through Oisín McAfee pointed as conditions deteriorated with the rain getting heavier.

There was little between the sides before a goal from Castledermot's put them clear, Raheens hit back with three points to leave one between them again. However another Castledermot goal, this time from Cian Keogh and in the end that was the decisive score of the game as Castledermot took the Division 2 title on a final score line of Castledermot 4-10 Raheens 1-14
