The woman was conveyed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious injuries. She was pronounced deceased yesterday evening.

The CCC has confirmed that Ardclough have withdrawn from Kildare Senior Football League Division 4. All planned fixtures involving Ardclough in Division 4 are therefore cancelled and deemed as walkovers.
The club will compete in the reserve leagues for the remainder of 2026 and in the Junior Football Championship as normal later this year. The club say they plan to return to senior league action in 2027.
The primarily hurling club, who retained their Senior Hurling Championship in 2025, have been struggling for some time on the senior football side of things.
Ardclough GAA was founded in 1936 and the club competes from U7 to U11 in GAA Go Games and from U12 to Minor they compete under the St. Edward’s banner joining with neighbouring clubs Straffan and Rathcoffey.

The hurling and camogie arm of the club is the stronger of the two with Ardclough being the joint-second most successful club in Kildare alongside Naas with 13 Senior Hurling Championship titles, a Leinster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship win in 2006 and a Kildare Junior camogie title in 2020.
However, the history of football in Ardclough is long and storied with the club winning the 1949 edition of the Kildare Senior Football Championship as well as lifting a Junior 'A' Championship title and Jack Higgins Cup as recently as 2000. Kildare GAA fans will be hoping this withdrawal will be an isolated measure for one of Kildare's most historic clubs.
