Kildare Gardai said a Multi-Agency Checkpoint was mounted by the Roads Policing Unit of Naas yesterday.
Gardai were assisted by Customs and Excise inspectors as well as Revenue and RSA Officials.
The Checkpoint resulted in a significant amount of vehicles being taken off the road.
In Newbridge/Athgarvan, Monasterevin and Kilcullen a total of 12 cars were impounded for No Insurance, Tax or NCT.
Two motorists who turned back from Garda Checkpoints were found to be Driving on Learner Permits - unaccompanied by a qualified driver.
One vehicle was also found to be dangerous and defective.
A total of 42 Fixed Charge Penalty Notices were issued for various Road Traffic offences.
RSA Officials detected 12 defects on HGVs and one HGV was directed to a garage for urgent repairs.
Customs Officials dipped over 110 vehicles and detected 10 VRT offences for investigations.
Revenue Officials carried out numerous checks resulting in 19 follow-ups.
Gardai said the cases above will result in Court Appearances for Offenders.
