Gardaí in Wicklow took a dangerously defective vehicle off the road on Saturday morning after they found that the jeep had a number of problems preventing it from being roadworthy.
The Izuzu jeep had no tax or insurance since 2015, while the NCT had also expired in May 2016. The vehicle also appeared to be crashed on the right wing and was missing a headlight.
Gardaí branded the state of the vehicle as 'dangerously defective' and seized it. The driver of the jeep will be prosecuted at a later date.

The vehicle seizure was made on day after Gardaí in Wicklow had also seized two cars following a checkpoint carried out in the Roundwood area. The two vehicles had no tax or NCT, while one of the drivers attempted to avoid the checkpoint by turning away from it.
