Sinn Féin gain vital ground in ninth count as hunt for second and third Kildare South seat continue

Sinn Féin's Shóna Ni Raghallaigh

After the ninth count in Kildare South, it was Shonagh Ní Raghallaigh who was the major earner among Melissa Byrne's distributed votes gaining 467 and moving 475 clear of Fiona O'Loughlin. However, the FF councillor remains 399 ahead of Labour candidate Mark Wall.

Cathal Berry was in fact the top earner, but he remains well adrift the chasing pack for an election place.

Poll-topper Martin Heydon remains 906 away from the quota.

Berry, Cathal (NP) - 4,290 (+627)

Heydon, Martin (FG) - 9,828 (+200)

Ní Raghallaigh, Shonagh (SF) - 8,379 (+467)

O'Loughlin, Fiona (FF) - 7,904 (+175)

Pender, Chris (SD) - 3,888 (+166)

Wall, Mark (Lab) - 7505 (+155)

No one has reached the quota. Chris Pender has been eliminated and his 3,888 votes will now be distributed.
