Hate your commute? Kilcullen cottage comes with separate home office
16:00 Friday 19th of May 2017

Primrose Cottage, at Mile Mill near Kilcullen is only half an hour's drive from the outskirts of Dublin, which makes it a fairly easy commute.

But you might not have to bother, as the property comes with a separate home office.

The office is detached, a small distance from the main house, and has its own entrance. It's 240 sq ft or so, with an office, store room and toilet, so you won't be disturbed by noise from around the house.

The main house itself has been lately refurbished and extended to 2,660 sq ft. That includes four bedrooms, three on the ground floor and one upstairs, according to the Irish Independent.

The entire property is on the market for €480,000.

The first-floor bedroom is the master suite and has a walk-in wardrobe and en-suite double shower, and there's also a bathroom on this level with a stand-alone bath.

Back on the ground floor there's a very pleasant entrance hall with a cast-iron fireplace and quarter-turn wooden staircase, open-string. Left of this is a triple-aspect sitting room (below) - roughly 20ft square with an oak floor, a beamed ceiling and a sandstone fireplace.

To the right of the entrance hall there's an eat-in kitchen with pine cabinets, granite countertops and a Belfast sink. Past the kitchen is the dual-aspect dining room, also with an oak floor, and both kitchen and dining room have 12ft ceilings.

The three ground-floor bedrooms are off a second inner hallway, and there's also a utility room, guest toilet and shower on this level.

It's on two-thirds of an acre with a stream at the boundary. The gardens are mainly lawned, with flowerbeds and fruit trees, and there's a greenhouse and a couple of other sheds.

Primrose Cottage is for sale for €480,000 with Jordan Town and Country (045) 433550.
