Head of Defence Forces supporting positive mental health in Newbridge

The head of the Defence Forces will be attending an event hosted by HOPE D in Newbridge tomorrow.

Chief of Staff, Vice Admiral Mark Mellett was based in the Curragh Camp as a Cadet in the 1970s.

The Defence Forces boss will be supporting the December awareness of Mental Health at 12 pm at the Kilkenny Shop in Whitewater Shopping Centre.

RTE racing presenter Tracy Piggott will be the special guest on Saturday, December 23.

The AGM was held this week and the new chairperson to succeed Jim Brady will be Terri Thorpe - a native of Rathangan but now living in Newbridge.

Terry was vice chair for past 18 months.
