While a cool and dry morning has greeted most people waking up today, by the time many head back to bed tonight the weather will have taken a turn for the worse as heavy rain is forecast for this evening.
Today will be dry and clear to begin, with sunshine in the morning. However cloud will build from the west and outbreaks of rain and drizzle will develop along Atlantic coasts before the end of the morning. Rain will gradually extend eastwards through the course of the afternoon, reaching the east in the evening time. Afternoon temperatures will be between 15 and 17 degrees with strengthening southerly winds.
Tonight rain and drizzle will be widespread, turning heavy and persistent at times in the north and northwest. Lowest temperatures will be between 12 and 15 degrees, coolest in the north, and it will feel humid in fresh to strong south to southwest winds.
