There will be no change in the weather this afternoon as the mild temperatures continue and spells of sunshine will breakthrough at times, but the evening is set to be much worse as a band of rain pushes across from the west.
Mostly dry this morning with sunny spells, variable cloud and just isolated light showers. However, rain will develop in the southwest around lunchtime and this will spread through Munster and much of south and west Connacht during the late afternoon and evening. The rain will then extend to the rest of the country early tonight. Highest temperatures of 16-19 degrees. Winds will be light, variable at first but will freshen from the south or southeast later this afternoon.
Cloudy and wet overnight with outbreaks of rain, locally heavy in nature and with the risk of thunder. Mist and fog forming along some coasts and hills. Minimum temperatures of 10-13 degrees in fresh, southerly winds.
