The hit and run of a pedestrian on a County Kildare road has led to a garda investigation.

The Leinster Leader asked An Garda Síochána (AGS) about this incident, and whether it was potentially linked to a similar hit and run incident which occurred on the same road on April 23 last.

In response, a spokesperson for AGS had this to say: "Gardaí attended the scene of a hit and run of a pedestrian on the Barrettstown Road, Newbridge, County Kildare on Friday, May 1 last at approximately 3.30pm.

"No injuries reported."

The spokesperson added that the investigation is ongoing.
