LATEST: New guesthouse proposed for Kildare

Planning permission is being sought for a new guesthouse in County Kildare.

Castlewood Taverns Limited is seeking permission from Kildare County Council to construct the guest house on the Main Street of Sallins.

According to the planning permission documents, Castlewood Taverns Ltd wishes to demolish two existing two-storey dormer rear extension to the two existing terraced buildings, which are used as a ground-floor hairdressing salon, ground floor and first floor residential unit, and a ground-floor bookmaker and first-floor office use.

Consent is also being sought for the construction of a two-storey rear extension to the existing two-storey terraced buildings.

In addition, the company is applying for change of use of the amalgamated two-buildings for use as a Guest House.

Permission for all associated site works is also being sought.

The date received is listed as January 5 last, while submission-by and due dates are listed as February 8 and March 1 respectively.

According to the business information website SoloCheck.ie, Castlewood Taverns Ltd was established in County Kildare in 1995.

The company also trades under the following names: Canal View Restaurant, Flanagans Mill, and Kildare Brewing Company.

It has its address listed as The Silken Thomas, The Square, Kildare, County Kildare.
