The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth has maintained that modular homes for displaced Ukrainians in Kildare are still being considered.
Back in September, the Department, which is lead by Green Party Minister Roderic O' Gorman, announced that construction of the proposed homes at Lakeside Park in Newbridge and Beechgrove in Rathangan was postponed.
Later that same month, the Department added that the government has approved the development of up to 500 units of modular accommodation in different configurations over two phases, and that final configuration of sites will be informed by further site evaluation and engagement.
It said at the time that both phases of the project are expected to be delivered by the Spring of 2023.
Now, when asked for an update on the situation by the Leinster Leader, a spokesperson for the Department said: "Sites are being considered throughout the country on an ongoing basis.
"While sites in Kildare are under consideration, there are none included in the current round of development."
