Kildare Co Council is seeking tenders to construct a Pedestrian Bridge as part of the Barrow Blueway project.

The Barrow Blueway is being developed as a 46km long, multi-use recreational trail built on and along the Barrow Line of the Grand Canal in counties Kildare and Laois.

The route passes through towns and villages of Lowtown, Rathangan, Monasterevin and Athy in Co Kildare and Vicarstown in Co Laois.

Contractors are invited to construct a new pedestrian footbridge including reinforced concrete foundations, abutments and piers.

The brief also includes a steel footbridge, reinforced soil approach ramps and all ancillary works.

The deadline to receive submissions is February 24.

The Blueway will facilitate water-based as well as water-side visitor experiences.

The project is being delivered in partnership between County Kildare LEADER Partnership, Waterways Ireland and Kildare County Council.
