Suspected €5K cocaine haul belonged to Suncroft resident, Kildare gardaí allege

ACCUSATIONS

Gardaí alleged that a suspected cocaine haul worth around €5,000 was found on a man in Newbridge.

The allegation was heard in Naas District Court on Thursday, February, 2, and related to one Damian Szatkowksi, with an address in Suncroft, The Curragh.

Judge Michéle Finan was told that the suspected haul was allegedly found on the 36-year-old’s person at Blackberry Lane in Newbridge on February 19, 2021.

In addition, Mr Szatkowksi was accused of driving with no insurance and no driving licence on the Dublin Road on November 24, 2022.

Gardaí further alleged that he was also found with an unknown amount of cannabis on this date.

The judge remanded the defendant on continuing bail until June 22 to allow time for directions to be instructed from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
