Kildare Chilling being taken over by major meat processor

Kildare Chilling Company is being acquired by Waterford-based meat processor Dawn Meats. 

The deal is subject to approval from the country’s Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC).

Kildare Chilling, based in Kildare town, is a beef and lamb processor which markets its products under the Kildara and Heritage Town brands.

Kildare Chilling has around 350 employees. 

Dawn Meats supplies Irish supermarkets exports to more than 50 countries.

It has several plants in Ireland as well as the UK.
