Kildare Garda Station
An Garda Síochána has made a new appointment in the Kildare Garda District.
Superintendent Paul Burke has been promoted to the District and the appointment will begin on February 13.
Last week, an event was held to mark the retirement of Supt Martin Walker from the District.
Supt Burke will be based in the District HQ in Kildare Garda Station.
The other appointments made by An Garda Síochána include:
Assistant Commissioner Cliona Richardson to North West Region on promotion.
Assistant Commissioner Michael McElgunn to Garda National Crime & Security Intelligence Service (GNCSIS), Garda Headquarters on transfer.
Appointments and Allocation of Chief Superintendents – 13th February 2023
Chief Superintendent Derek Hughes Shall assume responsibility for Wexford and Wicklow Garda Divisions on promotion.
Chief Superintendent Anthony Pettit shall assume responsibility for Waterford and Kilkenny/ Carlow Garda Divisions on transfer (commencing 22 February 2023).

Superintendent Gavin O Reilly to DMR South Performance Assurance Functional Area (Operating Model) on promotion.
Superintendent Paul Burke to Kildare Garda District on promotion.
Superintendent Aidan Brennan to Kilkenny Garda District on transfer.
Superintendent Anthony Farrell to Carlow Garda District on transfer.

Superintendent Joanne O Brien to Limerick Performance Assurance Functional Area (Operating Model)
Superintendent Michael Fleming to the office of Deputy Commissioner, Strategy Governance and Performance.

Superintendent Edmond Golden to Thurles Garda District.
Superintendent Kieran Ruane to Cahir Garda District.
Superintendent Goretti Sheridan to Letterkenny Garda District.
Superintendent Barry Doyle to Buncrana Garda District.
Superintendent Sean Fallon to Garda National Community Engagement Bureau (GNCEB).
