Croí Laighean Credit Union has warned members about scam text messages claiming to come from the financial institution.
Members are being incorrectly informed in the SMS communications that their account needs to be verified or unblocked and asks them to click on a link.
Croí Laighean Credit Union said: "Dear Member,
"We are contacting you as recently we have received a number of reports from our members receiving SMS messages purporting to come from their Credit Union which advise that the account requires verification or unblocking and inviting the member to follow a link.
"Please note that we will NEVER contact a member and request a code from them.
"Emails or message claiming that your account is locked or blocked are fake and should be deleted or reported."
