A man who allegedly sent a threatening email to a politician is being prosecuted at Naas District Court.

Paul Corr, 39, whose address was given as Pitchfordstown Lodge, Kilcock, allegedly sent a threatening communication on March 31, 2022.

The court heard that the man made admissions when he was arrested.

Judge Michele Finan asked for clarification about whether the injured party wished to make a victim impact statement.

Defending solicitor David Powderly told the court that he may be submitting a psychiatric report.

Judge Finan adjourned the matter to May 24 for a possible probation report and victim impact statement.
