BREAKING: ORANGE Weather Warning issued for Kildare

A Status Orange Snow and Ice warning will come into effect for Kildare from 9pm tonight until 10am tomorrow morning.

The alert also applies to counties Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, Wexford, Wicklow and Tipperary.

A second Orange Warning for Snow and Ice is in place from 11am today until 10am tomorrow for Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Clare, Connacht, Longford, Louth, Meath, Westmeath.

In Kildare, residents are being advised of lying snow and sub-zero temperatures overnight, which could lead to icy stretches.

Met Eireann said: "Further spells of sleet and snow today combined with strong northerly winds.

"Significant accumulations of snow are expected in some areas along with icy conditions.

"Lying snow and sub-zero temperatures overnight leading to icy stretches."

Possible Impacts:
● Very hazardous road conditions
● Travel disruption
● Poor Visibility
