Defendant's unfortunate luck detailed to Kildare court by barrister

ADJOURNED

And you thought you had (alleged) bad days!

Explaining why one defendant was absent from the court, a barrister at Naas District Court said to Judge Desmond Zaidan on Thursday, March 9, that he was told that one of his clients had some difficulty coming to the courthouse.

Donncha Craddock said that Gerard Flynn, of Leighlin Bridge, County Carlow, was on his way to the court, but crashed his car.

Mr Craddock also claimed that an emergency road vehicle was sent out to assist the 23-year-old, but that vehicle crashed as well!

Gardaí told Judge Zaidan that Mr Flynn was accused of a hit and run offence which allegedly took place at the N7 in Kill on April 14 last.

He was also accused of driving without a licence or valid insurance.

Judge Zaidan adjourned the case for hearing on May 11.
