‘I love you so much’: Son pays tribute to dad killed in Newbridge, County Kildare

The son of the man who was killed in Piercetown, Newbridge last week has paid tribute to his late father.

Slovakian national Marcel Kusenda (Senior) was pronounced dead at Naas General Hospital on Friday, March 10 last.

He was 47 years old.

Gardaí said that he was found with serious injuries as the result of an alleged assault on Wednesday, March 8 last.

Speaking about his late father, Marcel Kusenda (Junior) said on his Facebook page: "My Daddy, rest in peace. Thank you for everything you have done for me."

He added: "You gave me a lot of advice in life, you helped me a lot in everything you could. Every time I tried something, you tried it with me so we could overcome.

He continued: "I hope you find your peace.

"You are already in Heaven together with your father, whom I loved very much as well as you.

"I love you so much."

Gardaí have said that an incident room has been established at Newbridge Garda Station and an investigation is continuing under the direction of a Senior Investigating Officer (SIO). 

On Saturday, gardaí released the following update: "A man in his 30s who was arrested as part of this investigation has been released without charge.

"A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

"Investigating Gardaí continue to appeal to anyone with information in relation to this incident to contact them at Newbridge Garda Station on 045 440180, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."
