A total of €5,000 will be allocated to the St Patrick's Parade in Newbridge.

However, the money won't be coming from a leprechaun's pot of gold... rather, it was agreed to be allocated from the remaining Local Property Tax funds from 2022 at the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District meeting, which was held yesterday.

Fianna Fáil Cllr Noel Heavey and Social Democrats Cllr Chris Pender each nominated €2,500 be allocated to the parade.

The nominations were agreed upon by all councillors at the meeting.
