The Republic of Ireland host Latvia at the Aviva Stadium in their first game of 2023 this Wednesday, March 22.
PREVIEW
Irish fans will have their eyes on the Boys in Greens' opening Euro qualifier against France in Dublin next Monday (March 27), but first up is an international friendly against Latvia.
Latvia are ranked 133rd in the world, 85 places below Ireland, coming into this friendly fixture.
Stephen Kenny's side will aim to get a win to build a bit of confidence ahead of a much stiffer test against the World Cup runners-up next week.
Latvia finished on top of their League D Nations League table ahead of countries such as Moldova, Andorra and Liechtenstein, while Ireland came third in their League B group with Scotland, Ukraine and Armenia.
SQUAD
Kenny has named a 26-man squad for this international window. Norwich City attacker Adam Idah is ruled out of the Latvia encounter due to an injury and will be assessed ahead of the French fixture.
