Planning permission documents lodged with Kildare County Council show that two apartment blocks have been proposed for an area near Kildare town.
Two applicants, John McCormack and Seamus Lowry, intend to construct the new blocks at an area located on the Dublin Road near Kildare town.
The proposed development would consist of permission for the demolition of existing two-storey commercial premises and the demolition of existing industrial style unit.
Following this, permission would be sought for the construction of two blocks of apartments: Block A would consist of a two-storey building consisting of 10 one-bedroom apartments, while Block B would consist of a two-storey building with attic accommodation consisting of 10 apartments (eight one-bedroom and two two-bedroom).
In addition, planning permission is being sought for: an internal access road, connection to public foul sewer and watermain, soakholes, landscaping, bin and bicycle store and all associated site works.
The date received is listed as March 24 last, while the submission-by and due dates are listed as April 27 and May 18.
