Temporary road closure announced by Kildare County Council for Athy Municipal District

A temporary road closure has been announced for the Athy Municipal District.

Kildare County Council (KCC) gives notice on behalf of Roadstone Ltd., that in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993, that it will be closing the following road; the R418 Kilmead / Fontstown.

The closure will take place from Monday, April 17 to Friday, May 5, 2023 inclusive between the hours of 7am and 7pm, in order to facilitate road maintenance works on this route, KCC has said.

"Any inconvenience caused is regretted," KCC added.

DIRECTIONS

Southbound traffic travelling on the R418 turn left onto the R415, Fontstown Crossroads.

Proceed along the R415 to its junction with the R448 at Crookstown.

Turn right onto the R448 and proceed to its junction with the R747, Athy.

Turn right and proceed over the motorway onto the N78 and into the Athy Road Roundabout.

Traffic travelling North towards Kilcullen divert right at roundabout along the N78 and proceed over the motorway onto the R747 to its junction with the R448.

Turn left onto R448 to its junction with R415, Crookstown, turn left.

Proceed along the R415 to its junction with R418, Fontstown.
