File Pic: Kildare County Council has said that two potential new bus stop locations have been identified and submitted to the National Transport Authority.
An update has been given by Kildare County Council (KCC) on bus stops sought for the Aughamore and Clane areas.
Independent councillor Pádraig McEvoy put forward a motion at the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District (MD) meeting, which was held on Thursday, April 6 last, in which he called for KCC to provide update on the requests for bus stops near Aughamore/Clane Business Park and Hughes Pharmacy in Clane.
Regarding Aughamore/Clane Business Park, KCC said: "Two potential new bus stop locations have been identified and submitted to the National Transport Authority (NTA).
"The NTA is preparing designs for both new stops and will submit to KCC for review and a consultation process will commence."

Commenting on the situation at Hughes Pharmacy, the council said: "Kildare County Council continues to engage with the NTA about this stop location.
"The NTA have advised that they intend to consult with the bus operator to get poles/cages markings installed.
"Since this is a new bus stop, a consultation process is required," KCC added.
Cllr McEvoy said that while he welcomed the progress at the Aughamore/Clane Business Park area, he added a bus stop is needed for the area.
He also claimed that he knew of one woman in the MD who first called for the bus stop twelve years ago.
