Kildare's playground surfaces needs to be changed for wheelchair users

Kildare county councillor Angela Feeney to run for Seanad seat

Cllr Angela Feeney

A call has been made for playground surfaces across Kildare to be changed - to make the facilities more accessible for all.

Labour councillor Angela Feeney will ask Kildare County Council to review the policy for installing bark chip surfaces in public playgrounds in order to improve accessibility for wheelchair users.

Cllr Feeney wants the change to apply to existing playgrounds as well those planned in the future.

The issue will be raised at a KCC meeting on Monday next.
